Why YOU should be in your family photos!

blog mothers day photography

Here is a little Mother’s Day advice from one Mother to another…

I wanted to share this blog with you, this is written by a friend and a fantastic local mummy photography business. Her words ring so loudly in my ears, I hope this will encourage you.

Rebecca says, the best present your family could give you this Mother’s Day is lots of photos with you starring in them.  This Sunday hand over your camera to your partner, grandparent or older sibling and get in the photo with your little people.  Candid, playing, posing it doesn’t matter!

It’s hard to remember what you did a year ago but photos help keep today’s memories alive.  When your children look back on their childhood photos they are going to want to see pictures of you.

Hands up if you have used one of the following as a reason not to be in a photograph with your kids or family?

  • I look fat
  • I haven’t done my hair/make up
  • I look exhausted
  • I’d rather it just of the kids

Yep me too!

Now close your eyes and think of your favourite picture of you and your mum?  What do you see? Her wrinkles? Her lack of make up? Her double chin? NO!! Of course you don’t.  Neither will your kids. They will treasure those images that keep memories of days out, special occasions and fun days at home alive, as only photos can.

As a specialist newborn and family photographer in West Sussex, and now a Mum to two little people of my own, I know the incredible importance of capturing you and your little ones, with high quality photography.

If the candid photos make you cringe then how about asking for a  family, or mummy and me, photo shoot for Mother’s Day? Knowing it is happening means you can choose your favourite outfit, do your hair and make-up (or let me organise a free mini-makeover for you)...and I have plenty of tricks to create flattering angles and therefore capture you and your family in a way you will love.  All in the comfort of your home or on location.
